Ha! I got sent here from my channel, because I bought a similar (more heavy duty and 70 years old) studio stand. Love that you build yours by yourself. Really enjoyed watching.
After thus last week's live stream, I went back to watch this. What an awesome tool!
Hey, You make amazing stuff! One thing you could improve is the echo when you are talking. Maybe build some sound deadening boards to improve the audio qualitiy? Cheers!
Did you have any trouble with the tube collapsing from tightening the bolts I ended up having to use bushings. But works like a charm thanks for the inspiration.
Hey laura, great build and awesome video, can you tell me what is your main camera? Thanx
Nice
Oooooh I’m drooling over this!
You are so clever and innovative. Great content and I'm glad I stumbled across your channel
Awesome creation. I would love to see a video just on the tripod itself.
Love it! Tripods are wonderful, but cumbersome. What would adding a counterweight around the back - attached to the arm do? (idea being to negate the camera/arm weight)
Now glancing through comments I see I am not original :) Love your work.
🔴suaranya...bagus..bg ganteng lagi...☺️💕

Check Alex Chappel video
Too bad my workshop is so small otherwise I would definetelly build this one!
Just seen this camera rig build by Alexandre Chappel nlworld.info/key/video/t3GWa7-6naN0h4w There are some awesome ideas on it you could add to your rig
Great design, Might nick a few ideas for when i get round to upgrading my workshop. Pity there were 2 mid rolls in a 8 min video sponsored video.
Can this be made from wood?
Try it
Great tripod, Laura. Can you tell me what sort of blade you use in your hand grinder?
This is the coolest and smartest tripod ever!
👍😎🍺🍩🔧🔨
Nice idea. In astronomy we use parallelogram mounts for binoculars, and they have an adjustable offset weight for stability, instead of relying on the friction of the nuts and bolts. optcorp.com/products/orion-paragon-plus-binocular-mount-without-tripod
I really think i'll copy that
Heavy duty . I hope it improve each setup by more than 5 seconds . Thank you Laura !
your stand is really cool !!
You need a coil spring to the camera arm to compensate the weight.
Love the new tripod! Super robust and easy to move around. I can see lots of extra cool attachments coming in the future! BTW I love the lighting in your videos, lots of natural light in this shop. 😀
Heeey! Glückwunsch zur goldenen Kamera.👍🥳🥳🥳 Wohl verdient!
Great Laura, a very big project!
I WOULD BUY THAT IF I COULD! Please could you try and get that out for us?? As a film maker myself I would buy that tripod as i have the same issues especially when making short films
😯😯😯🖤🖤🖤
You brave to cut a thread into 8.8 bolt 😀
Thank you for having clean welds! Seeing them makes me happy!
Waw, what a nice shop !
That's a serious build. Well done.
Michael Hagberg suggested a counterweight, check out astronomical binocular mount. Great video as usual, and a really nice tripod.
Thats a really flimbsy build, you could probably only put a PanaVision or IMAX rig on that.
Hahaha
200x Winkel ändern - Laura die Perfektionistin ♥️♥️♥️
Great job ! love that !
You upload; I watch and like it. It's nice to keep some things simple!
That is a fantastic camera stand! Just excellent work. Thanks for sharing this.
could do a little countrweight on the camera arm to balance the weight of the camera out , will make moving the camera one handed eazier using leather washers probably will improve the friction a little
Super machine! But I wonder if it is a little heavy to manipulate? And if wiggle a bit?
One of the MANY Things I love about your channel is every week something DIFFERENT . NEVER THE SAME OLD THING . CAMPING ITEMS,HOME ITEMS,SHOP ITEMS WOOD, STEEL,PLASTIC, ELECTRICALS .A REALLY GREAT LEARNING CHANNEL ..KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK 👍👍👍😁😁😁
Such great planning and execution on these videos. It's always a surprise to see how the individual pieces end up fitting together to make the end result.
I love your shop so much. Those fancy labels and mottos really brighten up the place. I wish I had half the tools in it too!
I love the Jay Blades shout out! It's great when people I like are also into other people I like. 😁
Muito top
Very enjoyable! Are you married?
hey Laura, just an idea. you might want to extend the arm beyond the center pole and add a counter weight. Change the self locking nuts to something with a handle. This way you get the same you have now but you can also use it as a Jib. This would enable you to make shots that look like a vertikal slider. This could be usefull for final showcase shots of things you have build.
This is absolutely neat! The idea of a studio camera pedestal, but made in a more simple way out of scrap material. And the counterweight in the form of the power bank on the back! Such a perfect shop implement.
Just saying Hi! Love those brushwork on the floor, Laura! We last spoke on Instagram :D Cheers!
very nice i like it good job and thank you for sharing.
This looks like really great design for fast adjustments, I love it. I wonder if not locking wheels are bothering you when you use it? From my perspective it looked like the tripod tried to run away a little when you operated it. Also, if you'll want to cut some more time using it, I believe the handle fixing the arm might be replaced with a magnetic switch like the ones Andrew Klein made. However, it might be tricky to do as ISRU build (unless you have a bunch of magnets lying around), and it looks like the arm height adjustment won't be used too often.
It looks great and I hope it will fit your needs. I wonder, if this lengthy arm is prone to catching and amplifying vibrations? How do you feel about it?
a light on the top it will good
--> nlworld.info/key/video/zGyhqcbEgYh6g3w :)
Real cool Laura, Was trying to figure out how to build a tripod for my gear, I'll build one along the same lines as you did but I'll incorporate more arms and a vertical slide for one of my cameras. Great work by the way as always...
Brilliant idea
Great design Laura! I may have to steal it. 😉
A seriously groovy idea! sorry to be an asshole, but what is the status with the camper? I have been looking forward to its completion!
Ever seen a Bogen Studio Stand? These have a lead counterweight that is in the tube. www.adorama.com/bg0806.html?gclid=CjwKCAjwkdL6BRAREiwA-kiczD7r0xEASVZjqZNwrUTfLp8uhI_1uHmXRu-sAz2jnlUakgUf5vQrSxoCCO0QAvD_BwE&
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Cool
Don't the wheels need some locking mechanism? Couldn't notice any, this thing might run away on a slightly sloped floor.
That's really cool Laura! I know you don't do dolly shots but you could easily put that on a track if you want. Great job!
Brilliant :)
Heavy!
In the words of Adam Savage, " Use more cooling fluid!" Seriously though, what a kick ass tripod!
If anyone is looking for something like this to buy, look for studio camera stands. It’s essentially this with a few more movement options (like you can usually slide horizontally along the boom arm). They’re not cheap though.
Nice work A tip if you get any camera sway after hitting record is to get a shutter release (a wireless one is very useful). Just make sure that your camera is able to record and not just take a picture with the release
This is reason 842,392 Why I'm not a maiker. I would have made this waaaay too complicated. I love how you still made a similar thing, to the thing in my mind. But yours was practical and likely easier to use. Thank you for another awesome video.
Awesome video. I don't watch every video but, I have seen some over the years and it's great to see your channel grow and you confidently tackle projects.
You have innovation and the ability to make it happen. You can deconstruct and reconstruct. Nicely Done!
Great build! 👍🏻👍🏻
I can’t wait to get my lathe.
Genius!
Very inspiring! You gave me an idea for a rig to mount to my center support post in my small shop! Thanks!
Doesn't the stand vibrate or even move slightly when doing something that causes vibration? Locking casters would fix that. It is a wonderful looking stand. The "trades" (builders, fixers, etc.) should never be thought of as a man's domain. Thanks for showing the world that women can do anything that a man can do...maybe better!
It looks really good! But I need something portable, the stairs are a problem...
As a videographer and shop rat, this the coolest! Easy to move and position plus power supply. Great for overhead shots!
Wow nice, that should make filming in a workshop way easier :D
Looks amazing
I would be great if you could show the tripod in action a bit more. It was very quick up and down but it would be nice to see how it can be used. For example, if the monitor can be attached somewhere else or if you can make other attachments for it. Great project though!
Ingenious build, good to see you up upscaling bits in pieces from your collections. Loved watching the progress on Instagram and then seeing it all put together in a video. Love watching you figure solutions to things that suit what your have envisaged.
I'm glad to have given you an idea, it looks like my tripod I made a year ago on my channel, I made it with scrap material, maybe you happened to see my video, if so I'd like to know
Awesome :-)
I also build a tripod inspired by yours and Jay's. It's very different, but it saves me so much time when I adjust it for filming videos. I've been planning to make a video about it.
Hope you're doing well. Your tool build videos got me hooked on 'maker' youtube.
Awesome work Laura! 😃👍🏻👊🏻
Great project and video. Thanks for sharing. Music is on point.
German engineering. Class. Thank you. Regards Gareth Wiltshire UK. Quality. Gratitude.
Not a single Smudo to be seen! 🥺
