Where’s the finished interior and campsite tour?
Just found your channel and already super happy about it. This camper thing is a cool bonus since I have been dreaming of a similar project though mine would be maybe slightly more difficult to do. I want to take copy of the shape of my 1972 Camaro and use it to build a mini camper. The is a would be to make it look as much as possible like the camaro with same paint job etc. Then go on holiday trips with this crazy combo.. I mean a hook in a such car is already so wrong 😁 . Will follow your project to the end for sure!
Laura what happened to the build? Will there be more updates on this one?
Did you abandon this build?
Inspiration + form and function + perspiration is the fuel for accomlishment.
That looks amazing!! Is the canvas insulating enough? aren't you going to get too hot/cold? :o :o
What you need to do is use a glycerin fog machine and positive pressure fill the cabin. (while in a garage). You'll be able to find problem areas immediately. If you want a pleasant smell to stick to the structure, you can also use a pine/preferred smoker(basically what they use for beehives) and do the same thing. You will have to open it up for a few days afterwards though.
Laura, you're amazing and I love your videos, but can you try and level your music with the dialogue track? I'm always turning my speakers up and down. Thanks ; )
I'm glad you've changed homes so often. These build series are so fun to watch.
I would love to hangout, wrench and have a beer with you. Most of my friends don't wrench and build like I like to.
Laura how is this camper going? Looking forward for an update! Cheers
Like your job Laura
this project is gonna look so cool once a few more pieces are completed & it becomes livable. can't wait to see the evolution of it as time goes on
Looks awesome 👏
i don’t understand... how does this prevent mould? why do it this way? it’s just interior walls..
Watching the builds is better than therapy!
gut gemacht :-)
Beautiful... Greetings from tijuana
Great work and looking fantastic!
Could you tell more about material costs?
Doors & Corners, that's where they get you - can't go in too fast - the room will eat you.
A Japanese architect did a similar wall style
Moka is for girls, Brikkka is for Women!
I love the router table mounting system, that’s my kinda safety
Nice job
Great video, I really like how you talk through the process - everyone always wants to get to the fun bit but the hidden part is usually the most important. Maybe my daughter will believe you, since she certainly doesn't believe me when I tell her this. Come to think of it, I often don't believe myself...
surely "Inside Laura's Kampfer"? But I'm really waiting until it's finished and we get a whole series of Going Kampfing puns.
Laura, being German, needs a name that works in German, and “my Kampfer” is _not_ a phrase that has good connotations in German.
Insulation?
Please make a dog house for your dog.
like a Sauna :)
When are we going to hear about "Nord VPN"?
Add subtitles to Your video in multiple languages! Please! (Italy)
Persistence is omnipotent. I really admire your patience with yourself. The camper is looking great. The coffee maker stored on the outside is an interesting idea.
👍👍👍👍sweeeeeet
Are you building a bike for this project also? 👍🇨🇦
Your efforts have been so worth it! You should be proud. I saw the timber slats and my first thought was - french cleats. I wonder how such a system might work at least on some of the slats to give you flexible shelving and maybe even hanging spaces for small cupboards, drop down fixture or whatever - just thinking - cheers from DownUnder Australia.
Sieht gut aus!! But how do you clean the material behind the wooden strips? Steam?
Don’t you just hate when projects get attacked by raptors while your taking a nice stroll in the creative forest ? 😁 Beautiful design and execution Laura! Big fan from San Francisco! ✌🏽
😂😂😂
I love how you are so tactile. "You can't not touch." (Jurassic Park Reference) Also, all the dinosaurs in Jurassic Park are girls. "Did someone go and look up all their skirts?" (Another JP Reference)
Brilliant and thank you
This is peak German home engineering.
Love your projects. Thanks for showing.
Interior looks great . Router attached with paper tape looks dangerous.Furniture inside - can't wait .Thank you Laura ! .
We need this thing to be called "the Laura Kampfer"
Got to say I love watching your video’s... 👍😍
Things get built in my head very quickly With prior learning( which takes forever) I can guestimate how long it will take. I enjoy your design and function approach. As Jim Croche said"If I could save time in a bottle." LOL! "I hope it's uphill from here?" Probably.
What was the insulation again? I have forgotten! How to tackle moist? I'm just interested since I would live to do something like this, apparently substandard to Laura but descent enough.
I have a campervan cladded just like that. First sound isolation then sheepswool then breathing fabric and last the wooden strips, never had a moisture problem yet!!
Thanks! That is great to know!!
Hi Laura, I just watched your video you did 3 years ago with the Padauk Side Table. I was wondering if that table has turned more brown over these years? Thanks in advance for your reply. Love your videos.
@Laura Kampf thank you so much! That is an AMAZING table, and so inspiring to me.
Yes! I still have it and it lost most of its red Color by now. But it still looks great :)
Saludos Laura desde Argentina!!!
You are so right about nothing being as simple as you first thought - and that you have to think of function before form. You’re doing a brilliant job and it’s a privilege to be able to follow you.
There wa a restaurant once that used barnwood strips on the wall in front of the restrooms. Wherever there was a crack or knothole they put aluminum tape behind it. Just looking at it mad you think you were looking through the wall in those spots, It was an interesting visual effect. =)
I meant today I adore the spaced wooden strips with canvas backing. I watch a lot of van conversations (dreaming of escaping my job) and I have never seen anything as nice as that
Oh mate, what a week. Thank you for sharing the frustrations. For sporadic diy folk like me it's nice even makers like you have frustrating times too. Hope next week is less frustrating for you.
like wat you did with the wood slats on a black background , lot eazier to follow the shape of the trailer it alows the wood to work and not creek or moan and it looks good
Congrats on taking on such an laborous project upon yourself. I've been there, done a very similar thing (deconstructing and reconstructing molded camper interior + floor + roof). Stay strong. Cheers! :)
I'm only discovering your big projet now, when it's about to be finished. You know what, there'es a little funny coincidence. Because I'm following on YT a French carpenter, Olivier Verdier. And guess what, he's working to a "tear drop" camper just in the same time than you work on your new camper. He's near to end it too: nlworld.info/key/video/1I2LZr6Unn51fqY
Dang love your work can't wait for the next one!
Is there a German version ?
This is amazing. You are amazing and I learn stuff in every video.
Wouldn't you insulate under the boards and also add some vent or whatever they called..
Interior so far looks Fabulous!
Looks great Laura. I especially like the blue you chose. That upside router looks scary though
Transition: Money is in the detail.
Great job Laura. I like the interior. The broken paneling (if that's the right term?) seems to open the space up quite a bit, good choice.
I've been really enjoying the series (and your other works)! Something that could be useful later on would be a system that uses the wooden slats as an adjustable storage solution, e.g. by making grooves into the slim sides of the slats that would allow you to slide something in between them, or notches to hang things into them.
Thanks for showing the awsome Idea to fix the router! At 6:15! Btw... The Rest of the Video is awsome 👍 Jan // #DrKuebel
Really beautiful. I love the wood and textile contrast. Interesting aesthetics. Fantastic, and thank you!
Looks beautiful.
What did you use for insulation? Sorry if i missed this.
Armaflex-I made a video about this maybe three weeks ago
It looks amazing so far! Also the video production is awesome!! Congrats xx
Are there vibration related concerns when using nails to fasten things together inside a trailer which moves?
Really nice project. I've enjoyed watching the series. You're very clever in how you think through issues. Oh, and your video production is top notch.
Woah, that is such a smart design, I was wondering about the interior. Someone below mentioned a French cleat system with the strips.. I could see doing that with even a single row at chair rail height for movable tables and bed. Hope you don't mind if I steal some design inspiration from you, Laura :)
Aaah yes, the old "3 servings for one person" Moka. *Trembling* "D e l i g h t f u l"
its very generous of you to share your thought processes, your mistakes, and your problem solving skills when making this camper. It really gives us a greater understanding of turning a good build into a GREAT build
Do you sell the 80s camper? Nice interior work...
I LOVE IT! Looks great! That blue color is amazing and refreshing. 🤙🏼
Great project👍🏻
Looks super cool. No insulation though? Or did I miss something when the kids interrupted me?
I like the look. When I saw the thumbnail, I thought it was going to be more of a "french cleat" wall.
Projecting yourself into a corner...gotta clever and claw your way out. This is fun to watch and we can feel the weight of the effort and struggle, it comes through in the videos. You rock, it's gonna be a great little home for the road
Thank you for warning about the velociraptor, and his brother! Be well, be safe, and take good care!
Life without raptors problems its boring.
Looks great, the warm wood and cool paint works well.
Laura....your such a bright and sparkling person. I love your attitude and mind. You figure everything out without all of the BS that most people have with their little projects. Keep making, I'll always follow you.
you're*
This was such an awesome video. I know exactly what you mean with planning it out. I got 80% done with my mini camper trailer and forgot a major portion that needed to get done.
Enough to make you pound your head on a sturdy post for awhile. I hope you were able to correct it and continue with your build. Blessings to you.
Awesome video Laura , keep going strong . Mike Espo
I would like to know about the power and wiring design. Did you leave room to remove the smoke detector when you change the battery?
I know what are you saying about transitions. I'm building a camper in a VW Transporter and it's amazing how much work it does...
I’m also designing the inside of my 64 VW transporter. I love the look that you have achieved but I don’t recall how you have provided a moisture barrier. In 🇨🇦 we definitely want insulation but also a moisture barrier.
Bialetti made in Italy ❤️
Laura, Have you thought of mounting a couple of stabilizers to the frame so you can push that into the ground to keep the trailer from shaking with the slightest movement while you're in there? I don't know if that's going to be kind of Wiggly when you're on the inside spilling your coffee and stuff. Just a thought. Lice the trailer.
I think it would have been more helpful to have shown in the process part what you mean by transitions and where you had problems. As it was, the video didn't really look like you had any problems at all. I'm sure it would be beneficial for people to see where you had a specific problem and what you did to fix it.
Great work
