  • Hey Laura thank you for another great video! I did see the easy glue up technique before in one of Izzy Swan’s projects nlworld.info/key/video/0Iaeh6fOhYmeaoA . It took your interpretation though to make me realize the potential. Used it twice since.

Thinking with your hands as you do I believe works best. We do not see true craftsmen like you, much anymore, so it is a real joy to see your work.

  • The easy glue up is an old carpet laying trick (at least that is how I know of it). But yeah, I wouldn’t have thought of using that with wood. Clever, very clever. Also, I love the ‘easy’ bed. I will definitely consider that for my next bed (to be build later this year).

  • Wow Laura that bandsaw joint trick is genious😎. I'm just into handtools for now,but you've inspired me to experiment this trick small scale on a coffee table I've designed. Except I will use a bow saw, hope to share one day.

  • Happy new year Laura, it is very nice that during this recapitulation of your best projects you have shared the improvements you would make in case you had to do them again, it makes you honor and honest! Incidentally, your folding table inspired me to make a small table for my portable milling machine: as hinges I used 10mm threaded bars but it is always a folding table: when I put it away and take out the milling machine, it takes away little space, like the your.

At my skill level and the tools available, I must say that the 'very simple bed' is very appealing to me and I'm confident I can make one through your video. Thank you for the hard work and looking forward to the next one!

  • My girlfriend and I made an even simpler version of your simple bed in queen size. We live in an apartment with really narrow stairs and the only way we can put a bed inside the room is if it’s modular. Made 3 bases instead of 2, and the slats were divided by 2 in length to make them shorter and easier to work with. Thank you for the idea and design. All our tools are manual (apart from a cheap jig saw), but we definitely enjoyed the build. 😊👍🏼

  • My friends and I like you videos, but most of us don't have a CNC or big workshop. We would love it if you could do some one day or weekend builds with hand tools or portable electric tools like jigsaw and drill. A chair, table, end table, small work bench, wooden hand truck, lamp, show us how to make a jig to use with jigsaw, and similar things are great projects we would love to see.

  • Hi Laura, thanks for continuing to bring your infectious creativity and positive attitude to the community in 2020 with such amazing content as well! We've been using the table-top "trick" concept that you shared forever in furniture/cabinet making. Usually it is employed to "straight" or perpendicular geometry though. I think the way you've expressed this method is so nice; using organic lines so cleanly is a great effect!

    bisarowoodbisarowoodMaand geleden
  • The last table has so many variations possible if you changed the angle of the grain or used different woods to make some pattern. The storage chair reminded me of my school desk chair which had storage on the bottom of the chair with access on one side. I'm surprised I don't see that idea used more. Overall, very neat projects!!!

  • Great to see you, happy new year👍🏻my favorite was the last one, great way to join wood together when someone’s not 100 pro with wood working or like me only has a table saw , jigsaw not planer etc, I will be trying that at some point, thank-you
